Growing up in the 21st century was a blessing, allowing me to fall in love with Star Wars through the prequels and The Clone Wars TV show. Its impact on my life profoundly shaped my childhood and connected me with my brothers. As I reminisce about my journey with Star Wars, I am reminded of the moments that defined my experience.
Rising Action
The first moment etched in my memory is sitting in the theater and being infatuated with how cool Jango Fett looked in Attack of the Clones. It was one of my first theater-going experiences, as I was only four years old at the time. From his jetpack and pistols to his ship's arsenal of weapons that he unleashed on Obi-Wan, Jango convinced me that Star Wars was for me!

Another memory forever etched in my brain is the moment Darth Vader's first breath reverberated through the speakers in Revenge of the Sith. I felt a surge of excitement, and goosebumps tingled on my skin. The awe-inspiring experience of witnessing the birth of the iconic Sith Lord further solidified my love for the Star Wars universe.

The best part of my youth with Star Wars was the bond it created between my youngest brother and me. We watched the movies together, immersing ourselves in epic lightsaber battles and thrilling space adventures. The car rides to school only furthered our love for the galaxy far, far away as we listened to the enchanting Star Wars soundtracks. I even turned it into a game, quizzing my brother on which film each track belonged to. Star Wars consumed our childhood and gave us a special way to bond.
Climax
Entering college brought new challenges, both physical and mental. My junior year was particularly trying as I battled depression and anxiety. The weight of those dark days threatened to overwhelm me, but Star Wars emerged as an anchor, providing solace and strength.
A significant source of my pain was a great sense of abandonment from those who were particularly close to me at the time. In moments when I questioned if I could endure another day, I found just enough comfort in laying in bed watching Star Wars movies, particularly Revenge of the Sith. I knew Star Wars would never abandon me; it would be an anchor that I could cling to.

It may seem a bit weird that Revenge of the Sith, arguably the darkest movie in Star Wars, is the one I would return to most. While there is tragedy and heartbreak, it’s the fact that in even the lowest of moments, there is hope for better days ahead that resonates with me. The fact that even the strongest of heroes can feel tremendous loss and pain reassured me that it was okay that I was feeling this way.
Whenever I feel weak, I remind myself to look at how strong Obi-Wan proves himself to be. The comfort he and this movie offered was potent enough to keep me afloat and push through the darkest thoughts. I am forever grateful for the power of this beloved franchise in my life.
A Larger World
Time proved to be a gentle healer, gradually easing the difficulties I faced during college. My appreciation for Star Wars deepened with the passing of those troubled days. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020, I found myself with the opportunity to dive deeper into my interests, which obviously meant I wanted more Star Wars! Determined to expand my connection with the universe, I sought guidance on how to start reading Star Wars books, and that's when I discovered Youtini!
Youtini bridged my desire for more Star Wars and the vast literary universe waiting to be explored. They provided invaluable guides and recommendations, igniting a passion for Star Wars books that continues to grow. The introduction to Youtini marked a turning point in my journey, allowing me to discover new stories, characters, and worlds within the expansive Star Wars lore.
Conclusion
Reflecting on my experience, I realize that Star Wars has been an ever-present force throughout my life. From the exhilaration of childhood adventures with my brothers to the solace it provided during my darkest moments, Star Wars has shaped my identity and offered me a sanctuary.
It is a testament to the power of media and storytelling, and I am forever grateful for the profound impact it has had on my journey. With Youtini by my side, my connection with Star Wars continues to thrive, propelling me into new memories and excitement every day!
