Our favorites:
Neel’s family is seen watching a hologram of acrobats in the pilot. This is a recreation of the dancers from 1978’s infamous Star Wars Holiday Special using the original choreography
The jackets the children wear for school have Tionese symbols on them. The only place Tionese characters have appeared in Canon previously is in The Last Jedi’s sacred Jedi texts - indicating that the planet is either very old or more mysterious than we thought.
The racer Fern trades jibes with is named Bonjj Phalfa - a direct reference to Harrison Ford’s character, Bob Falfa, from George Lucas's American Graffiti
Wim mentions that Jedi temples can sometimes lower down into the ground in times of danger - something we saw personally on Lothal during Star Wars Rebels.
Port Borgo, the pirate port SM-33 takes the children to in Episode 2, was first mentioned in Legends in Young Jedi Knights: Shadow Academy and was originally near Mandalore.
The Teek made his heralded appearance as the ferryman on Port Borgo after his original role in The Battle for Endor.
Wim calls his credits “dataries” which is an older term for “credits” used by Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace.
The adorable winged creatures seen in the port’s cages are Fuzzballs, designs from Captain EO, the George Lucas film starring Michael Jackson that aired at Disney Parks until 1998.
