While Wrecker attempts to teach Omega the finer details of explosives amidst the shipyards of Bracca, the crew realizes that an unparalleled opportunity lies before them.
They can salvage the weapons left on the old Clone Wars cruisers to pay off their debt to Cyd.
Immediately, our boys set to work scavenging for bombs, ammunition, and even a few proton torpedoes that make Wrecker the happiest boy in the candy store.
However, remember how the cloaked fellows from last episode called the Empire? Yeah...Crosshair got that message, and he arrives with a full complement of clones to take down the Batch once and for all.
Unbeknownst to Crosshair, the Kaminoans have made plans of their own in the Bad-Batch-Apprehension-Department, but we’ll get to that in a minute.
What follows is the second intense battle through the halls of a Venator ship in the last two episodes as Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Echo, and Omega attempt to stay one step ahead of their inhibitor-chipped former ally, and they almost succeed…
Almost.
Their firefights take them to the heart of the ion engine -- just where Crosshair hoped they would be. A particularly brutal command ignites the ion engine with the Batch still inside it, but thanks to some quick tactical thinking, the crew blows the engine right off off the ship’s casing and immolating Crosshair’s face in the process
Now separated from the crew at large, Hunter and Omega make their way back to the hangar bay to find CAD FREAKIN’ BANE waiting for them. He has a bounty to collect, and you don’t want to be standing in his way, Hunter.
Yeah. This episode was awesome like that.
After possibly the coolest Western standoff in the history of Star Wars animation, Cad Bane shoots Hunter in the chest.
In.
The.
Chest.
Really pulled out all the stops here, eh Lucasfilm?
Never one to stop and gloat, Cad Bane then stuns Omega, collects her as his quarry, and leaves the scene.
Hunter finally awakens to the site of a HUD display a la Republic Commando, and under a significant amount of blaster fire, the Bad Batch gathers their commander and blasts off the planet...one member short.
Omega is gone.
Crosshair is back.
And the season is only half over.
