What Are We Doing?

We’re cranking out a full week of podcasts, Youtube videos, written content, and some special surprises all about the man, myth, and legend—Obi-Wan Kenobi. With the all-new tv-show hitting Disney Plus on May 27th, we are pregaming with a swath of Kenobi-related content from Legends to Canon, film to comics and everything in between.

Why Are We Doing This?

Beyond the highly anticipated limited series starring EWAN MCGREGOR (and Ewan McGregor’s beard) and the 20th anniversary of Episode II, there is lots of Kenobi content on the horizon!

Brotherhood

Brotherhood, an adult novel by Mike Chen, published by Del Rey, is fresh off the press, having been released on May 10th. It features Obi-Wan and Anakin in the aftermath of Attack of the Clones. Anakin’s been newly appointed to Jedi Knighthood, Obi-Wan is getting used to his new seat on the Jedi Council, and the galaxy has just erupted into civil war! Find out what we think in both our written and video reviews—there’s so much more to say about Mike Chen’s debut Star Wars novel.

Marvel's Star Wars: Obi-Wan

In the comics side of things, Star Wars: Obi-Wan #1 just hit the pull list on May 4th, 2022. Written by Christopher Cantwell, drawn by Ario Anindito, and published by Marvel, Star Wars: Obi-Wan is a frame narrative about old, grizzled Alec Guinness’s Ben Kenobi reflecting back on a handful of misadventures in his Jedi days gone by. Beginning in his youngling days in the temple and extending through his hermit years, it’s a groundbreaking comic foraying into never-before-told territory in the life of the Jedi we’ve all known and loved since 1977 (or whenever you first encountered the galaxy far, far away).

Kenobi: The Essential Legends Collection Edition

Not to be outdone, even the Legends universe has a new release with Kenobi by John Jackson Miller receiving an Essential Legends Collection treatment. It hit the shelves on April 5th in the large-and-in-charge trade paperback form factor with stunning cover art by Gregory Manchess. You can pick up your copy here! We talked all about the past, present, and future of the ELC initiative in Episode 157 of The Living Force, starring Jared from Legends Lookback—there were memes you won’t want to miss.

To build hype for all the Obi-Wan fun, we’re donning May 16th-21st Kenobi Week here at Youtini! Here’s how you can join in.
