The upcoming novel, Star Wars: The Mask of Fear by Alexander Freed, just released its first excerpt featuring Mon Mothma’s political maneuverings.
What we see:
Mon Mothma begins the excerpt by sharing a meal with an assumed ally
The conversation includes Mothma’s current political plans as well as a discussion about the Delegation of Two Thousand, but she is still reluctant to share all of her secrets - even with those she supposedly trusts
Once the meeting concludes, Mon makes her way back to her office where she develops a shocking skin reaction that spells out a message…someone wants to meet
What’s coming:
Star Wars: The Mask of Fear will be the first book in the Reign of the Empire trilogy
The first book will be written by Alexander Freed and focused on Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, and Saw Gerrera in the time immediately after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
The following books in the series will be released in 2026 and 2027 and will be written by Rebecca Roanhorse (Resistance Reborn) and Fran Wilde
