Kyriana Kratter recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to share stories from making Skeleton Crew as well as how she created KB’s journey!
Light Spoilers Ahead for Skeleton Crew Episodes 1-6
The process:
Kratter initially auditioned for KB back in 2022, and her chemistry read with Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Wim) was the scene in Episode 6 where she almost died!
The casting process was much shorter than other projects with Kratter receiving the offer the same month as her initial audition
Upon arriving to set, she discovered that the production team had filled her dressing room with pink objects (her favorite color) and anime drawings of Star Wars characters based on her love of Studio Ghibli
Deep dive:
Episode 6’s focus on KB was a massive turning point for the season, and Kratter credits director Bryce Dallas Howard with helping her find her own voice - even encouraging her to ask for additional takes
KB’s visor is not only practical - Kratter also has reasons for its usage. She explains that KB uses it not only to scan objects but also to hide in moments of stress; something that KB is doing less and less as the series goes on
Check out the full interview now to see more of Kratter’s journey and what she got Jude Law for the cast’s Secret Santa exchange!!
Skeleton Crew is now streaming on Disney+ with new episodes being released every Tuesday!
