Why it matters:
The Battle of Eriadu has been a key focus during the latter stage of Phase 3 of The High Republic. This massive battle has stretched across several comics series, books, and short stories, and it’s finally coming to an epic conclusion here.
Key moments:
The gang’s all here: This issue brings out just about every character Daniel José Older has written in The High Republic. Many favorites appear, but also some incredible deep cuts from his time in the initiative.
An emotional conclusion: The Battle of Eriadu and the greater events of Phase 3 has taken quite a lot out of our characters. They finally get a moment of reprieve at the end, as they reunite, having pushed back the Nihil occupiers.
A colorful battle: Harvey Tolibao and Michael Atiyeh deserve massive credit here. The art throughout is stellar, and there is so much going on.

The big picture: This is a great cap to the main action of the series, as the next and final issue seems to be more of a farewell. The arc at times has been a bit hectic, but it fits the style of what we expect out of The High Republic Adventures, and I’ll happily follow along with anything this cast of characters does. It’s hard to think about this comic without how it interplays with Trials of the Jedi (no spoilers!). This is just a surreal moment as we finish out this mega initiative. Overall, the creative team here really delivered in the penultimate issue of the series.
Our rating: Incredible
