Marvel Comics
Why it matters: Partially inspired by his story in Tales of the Jedi, this issue takes a look at the dynamic between the fated pair of Dooku and Yaddle in the years before The Phantom Menace,
Key moments:
Negotiations were short: The action kicks off with a trade dispute between the Trade Federation and Gillanter Corp. Here, we get classic prequel-style corporate politics mixed with a bit of contract disputes.
Wookiee Gangsters: As one of our Jedi companions put it, most expect Wookiees to be on the right side of things. However, that’s not the case here, where we get a crew of criminal Wookiees.
Dooku’s Dogma: Fans of Tales of the Jedi or Dooku: Jedi Lost are familiar with the steps that lead the Count to fall to the dark side. But, this comic adds another important piece of context to this legend’s arc.

Marvel Comics
The big picture: Guggenheim hits it out of the park again with this latest issue of Jedi Knights. As memeified as “trade negotiations” have been in this franchise, the political and capital-based stories in a galaxy far, far away are always fascinating. In addition to Dooku and Yaddle, who I’ve already covered a bit, it was great to have Seera Longa featured again. She is seemingly going to be a mainstay of the series, which is great. Beyond the story, Musabekov and Guerrero continue to deliver some of the best, most consistent art in Star Wars comics. It is seriously stellar work.
Our rating: Incredible
