arlier this year, Young Jedi Adventures (YJA) brought fans of all ages into the High Republic era. The animated children’s series stars Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, Nubs, and their pilot pal Nash Durango. The characters go on a host of adventures and learn valuable lessons along the way.
The gang has been helped along the way by the familiar Master Yoda, but now some additional fan favorites are coming along for the ride. YJA is finally crossing over with the popular book and comics series as Loden Greatstorm, his padawan Bell Zettifar, and loyal charhound Ember make the trip to Tenoo in the upcoming episode Charhound Chase. The duo were incredibly popular in their debut in Charles Soule’s Light of the Jedi. They also appeared in The High Republic Adventures: Annual and Tales of Light and Life. Greatstorm will be voiced by Matthew Yang King, and Zettifar by Marcus Scribner.
That's not the only surprise, though. The YJA crew will also travel to the iconic Starlight Beacon in the episode Stuck in the Muck. While there, they will meet Master Estala Maru, who oversees the station's day-to-day operations. Maru played a large role in the Phase 1 The High Republic (2021) comics, and he will be voiced by Liam O’Brien.
Perhaps even more exciting news for the dedicated High Republic fans is that Cavan Scott is writing the episodes. Scott has written Bell in The Rising Storm and Estala Maru in the aforementioned comic run. Scott mentioned that keen readers can keep their eyes peeled to find easter eggs sprinkled throughout the two new episodes when they air in the coming months.
