A
number of fantastic Star Wars creators recently sat down with Skeleton Crew creators Jon Watts & Chris Ford to chat about the upcoming show!
The panelists:
- Alex Damon (Star Wars Explained)
- Caitlin Plesher & Charlotte Errity (Skytalkers)
- Kerwin & Keith Yarde (Father. Son. Galaxy.)
- John Hoey (The Resistance Broadcast)
- Jon Watts & Christopher Ford (Skeleton Crew Creators)
Key moments:
- Caitlin Plesher asked Watts & Ford about the importance of taking young characters seriously, and the creators reinforce the important of “not looking down on kids” and respecting the danger of their circumstances
- Keith Yarde added a question about the time period of the show with Ford explaining the appeal of the lawless feeling present within the galaxy after the Empire’s fall saying this was “a fun time for the kids to be in a lot of trouble”
- Alex Damon brought up some obscure references that were littered in the show’s early episodes, leading Ford to admit his love for classic Ewok animated adventures while Watts shared that his introduction to the saga was actually through X-Wing and TIE Fighter video games
- Jon Hoey specifically asked about the creation of Jude Laws’s Jod Na Nawood, and the creators noted that the characters takes a lot of inspiration from Errol Flynn - a character that Law coincidentally played in 2004’s The Aviator
