The Original ‘Star Wars’ Returns to Theaters in 2027
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Star Wars, Lucasfilm is bringing the original film back to theaters for a limited time.

What we know:
2027 will mark the 50 year anniversary of Star Wars
Lucasfilm will be releasing a “newly restored version of the classic Star Wars (1977) theatrical release”
The limited release window will begin on February 19th, 2027

Previous re-releases of A New Hope have included added scenes and special effects, but this appears to be a faithful recreation of the original 1977 production
A restoration of Episode IV was previously shown in London with many fans assuming this will be the same print
Tickets will likely go on sale later in 2026 with more details to follow!
