What we know:
Adam Driver recently sat down with AP and revealed that he was “always interested in doing another Star Wars” and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy reached out to him about doing so back in 2021
Driver took a concept for a post-Episode IX Ben Solo film to director Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s 11) who then created a pitch alongside Rebecca Blunt to present to Lucasfilm.
After receiving approval from Carrie Beck and Dave Filoni, the group hired Scott Z. Burns (The Bourne Ultimatum) to write a script which Driver called “one of the coolest (expletive) scripts I’ve ever been a part of”

What happened:
After completion of the script which became The Hunt for Ben Solo, the group once again presented their idea to Lucasfilm who “totally understood our angle and why we were doing it”
Unfortunately, when the idea was finally presented to Disney president Bob Iger and co-chairman Alan Bergman, the duo “didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive” and scrapped the project

Since the story broke, director Steven Soderbergh has confirmed the project’s existence saying that he loved creating the movie in his head and that he was sad that fans would never see it.
As of now, Disney has declined to comment.
