The free-to-play Star Wars competitive arena game will be shutting down its servers this fall after just over a year.
Key takeaways:
Zynga, the creators of Star Wars: Hunters, announced that the game will be taken offline on October 5th, 2025
The final update for the game will release on April 15th and will include the new Hunter, Tuya, which will be free for all players
This announcement comes less than a year after the game’s official launch on June 4th, 2024

Looking back:
Hunters was originally announced back in 2021 at a Nintendo Direct event
Despite being soft launched in late 2021, the game did not receive a full global release until almost three years later
Even though multiple seasons were released with new playable characters and maps, the game failed to maintain a consistent player base
The big picture: Star Wars: Hunters was a valiant attempt at breaking into a new style of game for the Star Wars community and even featured its own tie-in novel. Unfortunately, players only have seven months left to enjoy the game before it goes dark for good.
