Respawn Delays Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

The release date of Respawn Entertainment's highly anticipated sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been delayed six weeks. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will officially release on April 28th instead of March 17th. The original release date and first look at gameplay were revealed at The Game Awards show back in December which can be seen here.

In the announcement, Stig Asmussen states: “We are now focused entirely on the final stage: bug fixes to enhance performance, stability, polish, and most importantly, the player experience.” He goes on to say, "In order for the team to hit the Respawn quality bar, provide the team the time they need, and achieve the level of polish our fans deserve, we have added six crucial weeks to our release schedule- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will launch globally on April 28th.” 

In the past years, it has become a common problem with video games being released too early and needing more time to be refined. Delaying the game until April should allow that to happen and, more importantly, give the developers and those involved extra time to work in a healthy environment. While it can be frustrating for gamers to have to wait a little bit longer, ultimately this should benefit everyone involved from players to developers.

In the meantime, this will give the eagerly waiting fans more time to replay Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and more time to read Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars, which is set to be released on March 7, 2023, along with our review.
