Publisher summary:
A decade of Marvel Star Wars comics! Celebrate ten years of MARVEL STAR WARS comics with all-new stories by some of the most influential creators of the decade. Thrill as DARTH VADER, GRAND MOFF TARKIN, DARTH MOMIN, DOCTOR APHRA, VALANCE, CHANATH CHA, RIK DUEL, COMMANDER ZAHRA, THE TAGGES and more collide during a grand Imperial event thrown by PALPATINE. Gasp (and laugh) at a perilous game between 0-0-0, BT-1 and KRRSANTAN! And what ever happened to SCAR SQUADRON?
Why it matters: Before Marvel kicks off a new era of Star Wars comics, three of the biggest writers of the last decade team up for an anthology celebration. This retrospective is a huge gift for all Star Wars fans, looking back at fan favorite characters from every era and teasing possible storylines to come.
Key moments:
Fan favorites: Charles Soule reunites Doctor Aphra and Sanna Starros by pitting them against bounty hunter Beilert Valance and newcomer Rik Duel. Featuring a special appearances by Lord Momin and keep your eyes peeled for cameos galore!
The meaning of Rebellion: Jason Aaron makes his triumphant return to Star Wars with a gritty look at what the Empire and Rebellion mean to the civilians of the Star Wars galaxy. Amid a backdrop of the harsh reality of war, we’re reminded of the heart behind every Star Wars story.
A game gone awry: In a flashback to Aphra’s time working for Vader, Kieron Gillen shows us what happens when killers engage in a friendly game of holochess. Who wins between murder droid BT-000 and deadly assassin Krrsantan?
The big picture: Soule, Aaron, and Gillen remind us exactly why they were each trusted with the flagship Star Wars comic over the past decade. Along with fantastic art from Salva Espín, Leonard Kirk, and Ramon Rosanas, they bring together fan favorite characters for fun stories that will be sure to entertain anyone who has been reading these comics for years. Each story in this brief anthology captures the essence and feel of characters who have become modern favorites. While readers shouldn’t expect any major developments for the overarching Star Wars Saga, A New Legacy serves as a fantastic victory lap for 10 years of great Marvel comics.
Our rating: Incredible
