- Star Wars Bestiary, Vol.1: Creatures of the Galaxy is an in-universe guide to the creatures of the Star Wars galaxy narrated by Ardis San Tekka, a creature cartographer
- Illustrator Iris Compiet reveals that every illustration was created traditionally with paint or pencils on paper - no digital drawings!
- The previewed illustrations on the Insight Editions website include a look at Banthas, Tooka Cats, Purrgil, and more

- Compiet amidst in the interview that her favorite creatures to draw were the banthas (the first she worked on) or the blurrgs which she calls “fish-like blobs on two legs with short, Tyrannosaurus Rex arms”
