What’s New: 

  • We got a first look at Jaleel White (Family Matters) as Gunter, a cyborg-esque pirate.
  • Other pirates were shown including Vane from The Mandalorian as well as new additions Brutus, Pax, and Chaelt.
  • Creator Christopher Ford confirmed “The Empire is gone, and so we're playing with a part of the galaxy that has a resurgence of piracy.

Unlikely Inspiration: Creator Jon Watts credits Monkey Island, the 1990 LucasArts video game, as an inspiration for the new pirate gang!

A Closer Look:

  • Watts credits Dave Filoni as their figurative ‘goalkeeper’ who keeps them in line regarding rules of the universe.
  • A new look at Jod Na Nawood was also revealed, showing ‘a whole new kind of Jedi’ that Jude Law will bring to the series.
