o you ever think Star Wars publishing will give us a month without content? Cool. Neither do we, because WOW did we just get a surprise!
Yesterday saw the reveal of the cover art for EK Johnston’s highly anticipated Queen’s Hope.
The novel rounds out Johnston’s trilogy that follows Padmé Amidala throughout her adventures alongside her fearsome handmaidens during the Prequel Era. The book is set to release November 2nd, 2021 and chronologically comes after Queen’s Shadow and Queen’s Peril, which were released in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
The glorious cover art above has yet again been illustrated by Tara Phillips and depicts Padmé in her signature olive hooded gown from Revenge of the Sith - a nod to the potential timeline within this final chapter of Johnson’s saga.
Additionally, the cover art reveals a Padmé completely devoid of makeup for the first time in the trilogy’s artistic history. This is not whole nor half Queen Amidala as previously seen...this is all Padmé. All the time.
In addition to the cover reveal, fans were also treated to an excerpt published by io9 that details an intimate scene with R2-D2 detailing some of the new struggles in the Senator’s life.
The overall plot follows Padmé in the height of the Clone Wars as she heads undercover to the front lines of the battle. Meanwhile, she must work with her trusted handmaiden, Sabé, to handle her duties in the Senate.
In a year of tremendous releases and trilogy finales, Queen’s Hope is rocketing to the top of our list. And come on, look at how amazing those books will look all lined up!
