Fans of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order are in luck. Lucasfilm just announced that they will be releasing two new books that take place in the Star Wars Jedi storyline—one art book and one original story. Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars by Sam Maggs is scheduled to release March 7, 2023, and it will take place between the beloved video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The book promises to deliver an interesting and fateful story that bridges the gap between both games and keeps us entertained while we wait for the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
The second book to be released as part of the Star Wars Jedi publishing initiative is called The Art of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and it will be released May 2, 2023. This oversized hardcover will feature a full behind-the-scenes look at the making of its titular video game as well as a ton of concept art and commentary from the game creators! We all know the time, hard work, and talent that goes into creating games like these, so getting a peak behind the curtain with this art book is going to be a real treat.
For those of you who haven’t yet played Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, it is a video game that was released in 2019, and it follows the former Jedi Padawan known as Cal Kestis as he navigates the new reality of the Empire. Cal survived the execution of Order 66 by Emperor Palpatine but was left with no one to finish his training and no direction in his seemingly hopeless life. But not only is Cal alone—he is also being hunted down by the Emperor’s Inquisitors.
If you’d like to get some Star Wars Jedi reading in before the first book’s release next March, check out the prequel comic, Jedi Fallen Order: Dark Temple! It follows the story of Jedi Master Eno Cordova and his Padawan Cere Junda as they uncover dark secrets in a hidden temple on the planet Ontotho.
