an Solo and his best pal Chewie will be coming to comic pages in March of 2022. Industry veteran Marc Guggenheim will be writing this new series simply titled, Han Solo & Chewbacca. This is not Guggenheim’s first time in the Star Wars universe. He wrote for the Age of Republic Special and Age of Rebellion Special back in 2019. The art will be pencilled by David Messina who worked on the final 3 issues of War of the Bounty Hunters.
The story is set to follow the dynamic duo in the time between Solo: A Star Wars Story and A New Hope. The two will be joined by fellow bounty hunter Greedo, as they take on a mission for Jabba the Hutt. The story aims to dive deep into Han’s character, as well as highlight the great relationship between him and Chewbacca. The series will also bring T’Onga from Bounty Hunters into the mix. There will also be some new faces, including a corporate bounty hunter referred to as a “Marshal”.
This is not the first time our favorite smuggler has been featured in his own comic. Marvel has published the Han Solo miniseries, Han Solo: Imperial Cadet, and Age of Rebellion: Han Solo. It is unclear how long the new series will run. However, in the starwars.com article and the This Week in Star Wars video, they avoided using the term “miniseries”. So it is possible that fans can look forward to more than 6 issues.
