Everything Revealed at the NYCC Lucasfilm Publishing Panel

ew York Comic Con hosted their annual Lucasfilm Publishing Panel this weekend, and they brought a bunch of new Star Wars reveals!

‍New Reveals:

• The High Republic took center stage with a number of reveals surrounding Phase 3 of the initiative
• Tempest Breaker, the upcoming audio original from Cavan Scott received new concept art featuring Lourna Dee and Marchion Ro

• Justina Ireland’s A Valiant Vow and Claudia Gray’s Into the Light both received final covers

• Concept art was shown of Avar Kriss, Elzar Mann, Bell Zettifar, Burryaga, and Azlin Rell in armor for Charles Soule’s Trials of the Jedi

• The Acolyte: The Crystal Crown by Tessa Gratton gets an official title after its reveal earlier this year

• Star Wars: Jedi Knights will be a new ongoing Marvel comic from Marc Guggenheim featuring stories from before The Phantom Menace. Each issue will be a self contained story.

‍Deeper insights:

• Charles Soule talked extensively about writing Trials of the Jedi - mentioning that “every character’s life comes down to 4-5 pages at the end of the book”
• Steven Barnes (Mace Windu: The Glass Abyss) said that Samuel L. Jackson was the coolest guy he ever met and touched on the importance of Mace Windu as a Black Jedi in the context of both Star Wars and our universe
• Barnes went on to further describe the importance of community and how the scifi fandom welcomed him so openly early in his life
• Guggenheim said that Jedi Knights will be “Swinging for the fences” and will feature both new and familiar Jedi. Yaddle’s story is set to connect to Trials of the Jedi.
