ucasfilm has closed a deal to hire Simon Kinberg to write and produce a trilogy of new Star Wars films!

What we know:

  • Kinberg’s projects are rumored to be Episodes 10-12, but that has yet to be confirmed by Lucasfilm
  • Kinberg is said to be writing all three new movies while producing them alongside Kathleen Kennedy
  • Kinberg previously worked with Lucasfilm as a co-creator of Star Wars Rebels as well as a consultant on Episode VII: The Force Awakens

  • Kinberg previously worked on a number of X-Men films including Logan with upcoming Dawn of the Jedi director James Mangold
  • He has also produced Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and executive produced Deadpool & Wolverine
  • Kinberg additionally co-wrote the first Sherlock Holmes franchise film starring Robert Downey Jr. and Skeleton Crew star Jude Law

Kinberg’s trilogy joins the multitude of Star Wars films currently in production. Lucasfilm has yet to release an official comment at the time of publication.
