“I am saving your sorry butt, brother, from the consequences of your actions… If you want to walk away without firing a shot, you be prepared to live with it.”
he biggest unknown about this ex-Imperial pilot is whether Nath Tensent is considering the well-being of anyone besides himself. Is he going to spy on his squadmates to make a self-serving credit? Or will he attempt to sacrifice himself to save a fellow pilot?
Nath is a former Imperial pilot known for blurring the line between right and wrong. As an Imp, his squadron patrolled the Outer Rim, taking bribes from the “shady characters” of the region to look the other way for their criminal activities. Ultimately, his entire squadron defected to the Rebellion where he led dozens of missions with his new partner/droid copilot T5.
Unfortunately, the squadron met a tragic end when the Imperial 204th Fighter Wing, also known as Shadow Wing, ambushed the team, killing everyone besides Nath. Stricken with anger and grief, Nath officially left the Rebellion prior to the destruction of the 2nd Death Star at Endor. The emergence of the New Republic gave Nath the cover he needed to act as an “unofficial” New Republic pilot policing a quiet region of space.
Nath spent this time surviving - because one would hardly label what he was doing as “living” - until another former Imperial located him. Yrica Quell had an offer for him; fly with her, track down Shadow Wing, and get revenge for his former squadron.
While Quell’s offer did nothing to pique his interest, Nath did find his own reasons to become one of the troubled pilots that make up the New Republic Intelligence Working Group more affectionately known as Alphabet Squadron.
Under the leadership of Caern Adan, Nath, Chas na Chadic, Wyl Lark, Kairos, and Quell are determined to bring a stop to the chaos sown by Shadow Wing. But how exactly can this group of misfits, vagabonds, and defectors ever expect to come together and defeat the ruthless and disciplined killing machine of the 204th?

Alphabet Squadron
The Emperor is dead. But the Empire is still clinging to what remains of its resources to survive. It’s up to a mismatched team of pilots to finish chipping away at what remains of one of the worst threats the recent galaxy has ever known.
If you’re a fan of the X-Wing books on the legends timeline, you will love the debut novel in this trilogy set just after the events of Return of the Jedi. With so little known about the events leading up to The Force Awakens, this is the perfect book to introduce you to the Galactic Empire’s final end.
The first novel in a new trilogy starring veteran New Republic pilots.
On the verge of victory in a brutal war, five New Republic pilots transform from hunted to hunters in this epic STAR WARS adventure. Set after Return of the Jedi, Alphabet Squadron follows a unique team, each flying a different class of starfighter as they struggle to end their war once and for all.
The Emperor is dead. His final weapon has been destroyed. The Imperial Army is in disarray. In the aftermath, Yrica Quell is just one of thousands of defectors from her former cause living in a deserters’ shantytown—until she is selected to join Alphabet Squadron.
Cobbled together from an eclectic assortment of pilots and starfighters, the five members of Alphabet are tasked by New Republic general Hera Syndulla herself. Like Yrica, each is a talented pilot struggling to find their place in a changing galaxy. Their mission: to track down and destroy the mysterious Shadow Wing, a lethal force of TIE fighters exacting bloody, reckless vengeance in the twilight of their reign.
The newly formed unit embodies the heart and soul of the Rebellion: ragtag, resourceful, scrappy, and emboldened by their most audacious victory in decades. But going from underdog rebels to celebrated heroes isn’t as easy as it seems, and their inner demons threaten them as much as their enemies among the stars. The wayward warriors of Alphabet Squad will have to learn to fly together if they want to protect the new era of peace they’ve fought so hard to achieve.
