Though you might recognize the name Zare Leonis from Star Wars Rebels, there’s a lot the show never told you about his character. Thanks to the first book in the Servants of the Empire series, Leonis’s story comes to life on the page as he wrestles with deciding whether or not to attend the Imperial Academy on Lothal like his older sister. Written by Jason Fry, this series does what the Star Wars Expanded Universe does best -- takes a minor character from a beloved on-screen property and establishes him as a main character in a book.

Publisher's Summary

Zare Leonis seems destined to become a poster boy for the Empire. His sister Dhara has been accepted into the esteemed Imperial Academy on Lothal and Zare is confident he’ll join her in a year’s time. But a year can bring plenty of unwelcome changes. Not only does he begin to uncover the Empire’s destructive plans for Lothal and the livelihood of its people, but his unease hits home when Dhara goes mysteriously missing. Zare is forced to question everything and rethink what it means to be a good servant of the Empire.
