Surface Details is a short story published in the developer blog for Star Wars: The Old Republic on August 8, 2014. In it, a Selkath customs official Varko working at the Mercantile Plaza on Manaan unknowingly provides information to Theron Shan and Lana Beniko on the movement of Colonel Darrok and Darth Arkous. The short story is a prelude to the Manaan Flashpoint released as part on Update 2.9 on August 19, which itself is part of the Forged Alliances story arc.
