Since I felt a bit indifferent about the first volume, I wasn’t expecting the second volume to affect me as much as it did. I pretty much went into this one thinking that it’s just a visual aid for a story that I already know. But damn, I didn’t realize how actually seeing the scenes in a visual format would take me through the motions again in a new way. Being able to see the character’s emotions and facial expressions was too much for me to handle (yes, I totally cried). I still stand by my statement in my review for the first volume, which is that the manga should not be a substitute for the original novel. But after you read the full story, revisiting the events through the manga is such a treat.
