- Kathleen Kennedy was promoted to President of Lucasfilm and was announced as Executive Producer of future Star Wars films with George Lucas adopting the role of creative consultant
- This move followed Disney’s previous acquisitions of both Pixar and Marvel

- The value of the transaction was $4.05 billion with half of the price being offered directly in cash
- Disney has reportedly generated $12 billion in revenue since the acquisition
- Over the last 12 years, Disney has produced 5 feature films and 13 television shows, more than doubling the amount of Canon Star Wars content available for fans
