ick Giacchino, the son of legendary Rogue One composer Michael Giacchino, will be providing the score for Skeleton Crew!

The backstory:

  • Mick is the son of Michael Giacchino who created the score for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and previously worked with showrunners Jon Watts and Christopher Ford on their Spider-Man films
  • Giacchino recently composed scores for The Penguin (2024) and The Muppets Mayhem (2023)

Deeper dive:

  • Mick was “awed by the adventure in Skeleton Crew” and used that sense of danger and excitement surrounding the kids to create the main theme
  • When Watts first heard one of Giacchino’s motifs, he instantly compared the four main chords to the four main kids
  • Giacchino’s sense of adventure is prevalent throughout the score, and he describes the music as “stepping into a storybook,” a “whimsical floating feeling,” and “almost like a daydream.”

Ultimate goal: “I wanted to capture that feeling of being a kid, looking out at the twin suns, and knowing that there's an adventure out there waiting for you.”

Skeleton Crew arrives with its first 2 episodes on December 3rd only on Disney+
