hough Life Day’s origins date back to the original Star Wars holiday special (not the LEGO one), there’s plenty more to learn about the meaning and festivities surrounding it. A new one-shot Marvel comic, Star Wars: Life Day, will explore these galaxy-wide celebrations further later this year.
The issue will contain four new stories written by Cavan Scott, Justina Ireland, Jody Houser, and Steve Orlando, with art by Phil Noto, Ivan Fiorelli, and more.
While these stories will take place throughout the Star Wars timeline, Scott and Ireland will stick to their current roles as High Republic experts with stories set far, far in the past. Ireland will even get the chance to bring furry fan-favorite Jedi Padawan Burryaga to the front of the stage in her tale.
This is not the only Life Day-centric collection of stories we’re getting in 2021, either. Scott and George Mann are also releasing Life Day Treasury this September. Illustrated by Grant Griffin, the short story collection will focus on a variety of festivities within the Star Wars universe. Why all the Life Day-themed narratives? It seems to have started with last year’s LEGO Disney+ special and … might just keep going forever. As long as Burry’s there, we’re not complaining.
