he end of The Mandalorian Season 2 brought with it not just in-universe surprises of the Luke Skywalker variety, but also the announcement of another new Star Wars series set to premiere in 2021. Christmas came early today when actual footage from The Book of Boba Fett dropped in the form of a very real, very hype-filled trailer.
This morning, the first official trailer for the forthcoming Disney+ series instantly turned November into the start of Boba Fett Season. Or Fennec Shand Season, if she’s more your style.
B'omarr monks! Underworld aliens! Fennec back with a really big gun and an even bigger intolerance for nonsense! Even though there’s still a lot we don’t know about the show itself, if the trailer is any indication, The Book of Boba Fett will take every opportunity it has to introduce Boba Fett to an entirely new segment of Star Wars fans, delight long-time fans of the bounty hunter, and show the more apathetic crowd more to be excited about.
The series stars Temuera Morrison as Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Shand. Both appeared in The Mandalorian as their respective characters before the spinoff series was announced. Morrison originally played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones and has voiced both Jango and Boba in multiple video games. He also reprised his role as the voice of Boba Fett most recently in the English dub of an episode of Star Wars: Visions.
The Book of Boba Fett drops exclusively on Disney+ December 29, 2021.
